Last updated: October 2026

The short version

  • We collect your contact details when you enquire, and health information needed to give you a safe massage.
  • We only use it to respond to you, book and provide your treatment, and keep proper treatment records.
  • We never sell your information or use it for marketing without asking.
  • Some of the services we use (website hosting, the enquiry form and email) may store data overseas.
  • You can ask to see or correct your information, or make a complaint, at any time.

SRMT Massage Therapy (“SRMT”, “we”, “us”) is a remedial massage practice run by Samantha Rutland from a home studio in Madeley, Western Australia. Because we provide a health service and hold health information, we follow the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy explains how we handle your personal information.

1. What we collect

Depending on how you deal with us, we may collect:

You can make a general enquiry without giving your full name, but we need accurate health information before we can provide a treatment safely.

2. How we collect and hold it

We collect information directly from you: when you call, email or text us, fill in the enquiry form on this website, or complete a health questionnaire and talk with us at your appointment.

Enquiry form submissions are delivered to our email inbox by Web3Forms. Client and treatment records are kept securely, either on paper in a locked location or electronically on password-protected devices and accounts, and only Samantha Rutland can access them. We keep treatment records for as long as required by law and professional standards, then destroy or de-identify them securely.

This website doesn't use analytics or advertising cookies. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may process technical information such as your IP address to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

3. Why we collect, use and disclose it

We use your information to:

We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't share it with anyone else except: the service providers listed below that help us run the business; another health practitioner or your doctor, only with your consent; or where the law requires or allows it, for example to prevent a serious threat to someone's health or safety.

4. Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it if it's inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. Contact us using the details below. We'll respond within 30 days, and there's no charge for asking. If we can't give you access (for example, where the law allows us to refuse), we'll explain why in writing.

5. Making a complaint

If you think we've mishandled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to fix it. We'll acknowledge your complaint within 7 days and aim to resolve it within 30 days.

If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

6. Overseas disclosure

Some of the services we use to run this website and our business may store or process your information outside Australia:

We only use reputable providers with their own privacy and security commitments, and we don't send detailed health records to them.
